Exploring St. Vincent & the Grenadines
Adventure
Looking for an adventure? Make the most of your stay and include one of the many exciting excursions our islands have to offer in your itinerary!
Sailing the Grenadines
One of the most recommended trips is to sail through the Grenadine islands because it is the perfect way to explore and appreciate each island and cay. There are a few yachting companies located in St. Vincent, Horizon Yacht Charters and Dream Yacht Charters. Yachting season is usually between December to April as the northern countries are in winter. Also, the Caribbean breeze during this time is ideal for sailing. This type of getaway adventure is usually preferred by couples and families because it is a great way to bond and form connections and share experiences.
Diving & Snorkelling
Along the coast of our islands live vibrant coral reefs and beautiful marine life. There are many fascinating spots that you can discover including the 50 sq km Tobago Cays Marine Park. The turquoise blue water paired with the warm Caribbean sun in this lagoon makes the perfect pair. Here, you can find starfish, sea turtles, sea urchins, and sharks. Adventurous folk enjoy swimming with such marine life. Mustique island has also begun a coral restoration project due to a decline in the reef ecosystems which is why this program was created, to reduce their disappearance before it's too late. They started by constructing two coral nurseries on tree-like structures, attached to the sea floor. Snorkelers who may be interested in viewing the project may send a request through their website.
Boat Tours
Certain local boat owners charter their vessels to whoever may be interested.
How it works: prospective customers are able to contact owners and discuss their desired destinations and are then given a quote. The most popular tours include but are not limited to island hopping the Grenadines, sunset cruises, fishing tours, snorkelling, and coastal cruises.
Kite Surfing
In the southern Grenadines, Union Island offers kite surfing lessons and gear rentals at the JT Pro Center. This is a great way to get out of your comfort zone and try something new, whether it be solo, as a couple or with friends and family. The courses are designed for beginners, amateurs and children.
Hiking the La Soufriere Volcano
The La Soufriere Volcano is an active volcano located in the north of the mainland, St. Vincent and can be accessed from both the windward and leeward sides. The windward hike takes approximately 4 hours in total and along the way, you will encounter two river beds, the Jacob's Well and Table Rock. The last explosive eruption recorded was on April 9th, 2021. On a clear day, the views are spectacular and will definitely be a memorable adventure.
Exploring
St. Vincent & the Grenadines have endless hidden spots that are just waiting to be discovered. Local tour guides are able to navigate you through the rocky tributaries, luscious vegetation, and windy paths to hot springs, picturesque waterfalls, and beautiful deep holes. Trails can vary from twenty minutes to seven hours long, depending on what you're looking for. These are usually intriguing for solo travellers or adventure seekers who enjoy spending their time in the outdoors.
